Today, three-dimensional imaging is offering diagnostic and therapeutic options in the fields of surgery, prosthetics, orthodontics, and restorative dentistry. GALILEOS was created to bring these options to life and integrate them efficiently into routine dental practices.
This technology can improve diagnoses, limit medical procedures that might be unnecessary, and provide treatment options that are more specific to your needs.
CT Scans – The Origin
In the 1960s, England’s EMI Central Research Laboratories actually birthed CT scans. Their parent company owned a record label that produced the Beatles. This iconic band actually helped fund the creation of these CT scanners that have now become part of routine medical use.
However, it wasn’t until the 1980s that CT scans became more readily used, as faster scanning speeds made it possible to gather large image sections of anatomy in seconds.
CT Scans – The Facts
CT scanners emit X rays providing detailed images of anatomy and disease. As with any X ray, radiation is released when conducting a CT scan, but as with most medical procedures of modern medicine …the benefits arguably outweigh the risks.
