Correcting Your Smile Invisibly – Invisalign Braces

If traditional braces do not seem to fit your professional lifestyle, Dentists R Us has the solution. With the creation of Invisalign, correcting your smile has become a much more pleasant process for adults.

Invisalign is a fairly simple process, but we felt it may be helpful to educate our readers to help them understand the start-to-finished process.

Invisalign can address mild alignment issues, to more complex ones, so first we have to determine if you are a good candidate for this procedure. So the initial appointment creates the opportunity to discuss your candidacy, cost, insurance coverage, and any concerns you might have.

If you conclude that Invisalign is the option you would like to pursue, x-rays are taken, and pictures and impressions of your teeth are created. From there, Invisalign creates a digital 3-D image.

Once Dentists R Us receives that image, we can begin to create your treatment plan, and assess how your teeth will move and adjust. This enables us to show you a virtual representation of how your teeth will move with each upcoming stage.

Multiple sets of Invisalign aligners are created specifically for you, and are made of a smooth, comfortable BPA-free plastic that won’t irritate your cheeks and gums like traditional metal braces often do. You will wear your Invisalign product throughout the day, and remove them when you eat, or to brush and floss your teeth. As you wear each set of aligners, your teeth will gently and gradually begin to shift into place.

Every two weeks your aligners are normally changed, and we will conduct a checkup to chart your progress every six weeks or so, ensuring your teeth are adjusting adequately.

If you are consistent at keeping your aligners in place 20 to 22 hours per day, throughout the entirety of your treatment period, this treatment often will only take around a year.

Invisalign is definitely a more “adults-friendly” approach to traditional braces, but the results are the same – a beautiful smile!  And at Dentists R Us, a smiling patient makes for a happy dentist 🙂
